MEDIUM ENVELOPE HANDBAG
Materials: Sourced from the same tanneries that supply the biggest couture fashion houses, the quality is unrivaled in our exotic skins and leathers. The process is further escalated by hand picking each individual skin. The sources of our materials are sustainably harvested and farmed. All of our skins are registered with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department and meet strict compliance with the international requirements of CITES.
Details/Turned Edges: The key feature in construction technique that sets us apart from other fashion houses is our use of the ‘Turned Edge’ on every single edge of our handbags. This detail shown here is a couture bag making technique that is very laborious and expensive to produce, as extra seam allowance on the edges are finely split, hand turned, clamped and held tightly in place while sewing together not allowing for any margin of error. The result is a disappearing edge of pure exotic skin where most designers use raw cut edges and paint with a resin that will eventually crack and chip away with use.
Most fashion houses have either lost the language of craft to train for this technique or have simply cost edited this detail for larger margins and quicker production turnaround. This is where we do not compromise. Not to mention, we also have full exotic trim and facing on the interiors of our bags instead of leather. We also make extensive use of French Binding and Piping and intricate layering of panels on some of our designs that baffle most bag makers for their complexity in assembly.
Custom Hardware: Our custom hardware is hand cast and polished one piece at a time and reviewed carefully before they go into production.
Serial #, Authenticity Card: Every handbag is stamped on the inside with an individual serial number that comes with a corresponding authenticity card. This assures the uniqueness of the product and has been of use for registering the bag with the clients name for logging the care and conditioning of the bag during its lifetime.
Fabrics: The interior is lined with a custom luxurious Jacquard weave polka dot fabric which was woven with industrial tensile strength standards. Each handbag is also given a beautiful signature dust bag made of a jacquard weave fabric that has been finished with calfskin binding on the interior seams.
Craftsmen: We take pride in the fact that the product is 100% handmade here in the US. This brings industry back to the States and gives us further control over the communication of details and quality procured in the final product. The craftsmen are at the highest level of skill in the industry– exotic skin master artisans, each with over 20 to 30 years of handbag making experience.
Product Care: Exotic skins are not only known for their unique markings and suppleness, they are one of the most durable skins available. Due to the nature of exotic skins having unique patterns and markings, the actual piece received may vary in size and texture of the natural pattern from the photo. When not in use, exotic skin pieces should be stored in a cool, dark, and dry location in the provided dust bag. If your product becomes wet, first gently wipe off excess water with a soft dry absorbent cloth.
Then, dry naturally and slowly without direct sunlight or auxiliary heat. Please refrain from the use of lotions, leather creams, or shoe polish to condition the leather. Doing so may darken or alter the color and finish. The occasional gentle use of a damp soft cloth will maintain the original oils and luster in the finish. If needed, we recommend only professional cleaning and maintenance. Make sure to always test anything that will be applied to the skin on a hidden or inconspicuous surface before treating the entire product.
